Engineering projects
With twenty years of expertise in aerial photography and professional engineering, Altitude Imaging can provide Engineers with a wide breadth of imaging technologies and solutions. Altitude imaging uses high tech tools to remotely collect high resolution images of engineering projects. Images of subject matter formerly dangerous or even impossible to collect are now possible and safe with our methods. Using remotely accessed, high resolution imagery to perform preliminary assessments clients are able to develop safer work places and more efficient project plans.
Photographic bridge & dam inspection
The lower part of a bridge or the side of a dam is a dangerous area for inspectors to access. Often, the engineer must rely on third party observations to complete his report. With Altitude’s high resolution remote photography and video equipment, the project engineer can now see for himself (via remote video screen or high resolution digital images) each section of a bridge or a dam to be inspected, all the while standing at a safe distance away.
Structural thermal imaging
If collected under load thermal imaging can be a very valuable tool in assessing structural anomalies in large structures.
Inspection of load restricted bridges
The inspection of rural bridge networks, like those used in B.C.'s logging industry, are commonly limited by the load restrictions. Snooper trucks, the typical tool for inspecting bridges, often exceed the weight bearing capacity of small bridges. Altitude has developed it's own (patented pending) technology to address this specific problem with great success.
Roads and highways
Rock cliff stability & retaining walls
During road construction, rock cliff stability can represent a major challenge to the engineer who cannot, for safety reasons, personally inspect each geological layer. Our technology allows the engineer or geologist to observe the cliff and any suspected seeping areas in real time via a monitor on the ground, and Altitude will provide the engineer with the video footage necessary to complete his technical report for technical recommendations. The same concept applies to man-made retaining walls.
Development projects
Site developers are facing many challenges such as land clearing, drainage, property boundaries, and wet land, creek and lake buffer zone protection. Even today, the developer and the engineering consultant still have difficulties delineating these areas effectively on a map. Prior to construction, Altitude’s high definition, low level aerial photographs can provide the developer and the engineering consultant the tools they need to design the project in a cost-effective manner.
Construction sites monitoring
On major construction sites, it is always difficult to obtain a detailed of the site to show the investor, owner, architect or other engineering team (via internet) without climbing on the roof of other buildings. We can provide our clients with a high definition photo or video of the entire site through safe means and at a reasonable cost. Because we provide our clients with the digital file, the same photo can be used for many purposes, such as a report, company brochure, etc.
Dated images
Having your construction site photographically monitored on a regular recurring basis can be very valuable for:
- insurance purposes
- validate project deadlines
- monitor subcontractor progress
- asset loss documentation
- environmental compliance
- monitor ground conditions
